Evan P. Schneider is the author of the novel, A Simple Machine, Like the Lever, which has been adapted for film by Mark Hoffman. Named one of the best books of the year by Willamette Week when it was originally released, it has since been reissued with a foreword by Justin Hocking.

He is also the author of Rural Education, a collection of poems, and founding editor of Boneshaker: A Bicycling Almanac, which Esquire called “a philosophical love letter to life in the saddle.”

Evan’s writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, The Normal School, Rattle, CrayfishMag, Propeller, and elsewhere, and he has received fellowships for his work from the Oregon Arts Commission and Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts.
